Foggy Evening in the Mountains

February 28, 2020

The thickest fog blanketed where we were in Shenandoah National Park for the beginning AND end of our session and it was absolutely magic.

But you know what? I was initially worried that Alyce and Phil might be upset because we had driven so far, planned ahead, and scouted out different spots to get those epic mountain views for their photos and there weren’t any. But instead, all they kept saying to me was how they couldn’t care less about the weather because of how excited they were to shoot together, and how they couldn’t wait to see the photos because they trusted me fully as a photographer.

It’s literally a dream when I hear something like this from my clients!! One thing I ALWAYS say when it comes to sessions that end up having unpredictable weather is to just embrace it.

No matter if we are dealing with crazy winds, unexpected rain, freezing temps or in this case thick fog – there’s something so beautiful and real about freely embracing the day, just as it is, and not getting caught up in the “supposed to be’s” or “could have been’s”.

These two did just that and I’m so stoked about what we got to create together as a result! Counting down the days till their big day!

” Choosing Hannah as our photographer was the best decision we ever made. Throughout the entire session, she was so warm and giggly, making it feel natural to us. Our pictures turned out AMAZING. They portrayed our story & personalities perfectly. We’re so happy to have these pictures to cherish forever. We 1000% recommend her & can’t wait for her capture our special day!”
