There’s a million and one places to do your engagement photos, but some of my favorite sessions of all time, like this Old Town Alexandria engagement, are ones where the location isn’t over thought out or high-effort, but simply someplace that feels authentic to them as a couple. Because when all is said and done, an epic location alone is not going to make your heart skip a beat when you look at your photos, it’s the connection and love they depict.
Kea and Tony live just a few blocks away from here so we chose Old Town Alexandria for their engagement shoot because it feels like home to them (and it doesn’t hurt that it is so pretty as well!), and that’s one of the reasons I love these images so much. Just two humans in love, building a life together in this town and getting to capture them in their element just makes it all the more sweet. We adventured through some of my favorite spots in old town and headed down to the waterfront for a bit of a different vibe.
After wrapping up our session, we had celebratory drinks at one of their favorite bars and talked all things wedding planning. I can’t wait to travel to the beautiful Wilmington, NC next spring to capture these two tie the knot!
