“Rain or Shine”
That was the the motto of these two avid outdoors lovers, and one that couldn’t have been more fitting as it POURED for hours during their Rawlings Conservatory Baltimore Elopement. I’ve shot in rain many times in my career, but never quite like this day. We shifted plans, embraced it all and certainly got soaked along the way, but most importantly we documented their love on this joyous day, in the city they fell in love and made home!
M & R tied the knot on a Friday morning at the Courthouse in Baltimore with two of their very closest, special people present to witness. I met up with them directly after for photos and even though it was down pouring which might have sent some couples spiraling, I was met with so much joy and peace. They were down for anything (my favorite kind of couples! 🙂 so we took advantage of the clear umbrellas I brought and got photos in the rain anyways.
We then took a detour to their old apartment which they lovingly refer to as the “Apothecary” since it used to be an old apothecary back in the day! If you’ve followed along for some time, you might know but my favorite thing is to photograph couples at places that hold meaning them, so it was actually super special that the rain forced us inside giving us the opportunity to use this space. For our last and final stop, we went to the Rawlings Conservatory. They were so gracious to grant us a last minute permit in order to stay dry and warm for their remaining portraits, and man, was it such a stunning spot!
