lee + geneva
This shoot has been on my bucket list for way too long. I have always dreamed of getting to shoot two motorcycle lovers s in their element. Geneva and Lee were two people I knew from church and through mutual friends and it just so happened that they had the exact Harley Davidson bike that I was hoping to photograph! They didn’t get to do engagement photos before their wedding, so I was so overjoyed to be able to shoot a session for them doing something that they love to do!
Searching for a location for this session was harder than I anticipated since Northern Virginia does not have a lot of roads that aren’t heavily populated with cars that have a pretty look to them! After a lot of location scouting + driving around, I finally settled on a perfect spot and told Geneva and Lee about it! The day of the shoot, I show up and my “perfect spot” was flooded with huge crowds of people for some sort of event. I quickly scrambled to find another spot where we could park the bike and do the session, and God provided the perfect spot on the side of the road that ended up being so much better than my original plan! I loved how the light shone through the trees in this spot and by the end of our session, the traffic had died down enough for Lee to actually drive the motorcycle for me!! Just goes to show that sometimes, the best shoot locations are not the ones you originally plan on!
