I had been eagerly awaiting meeting Alexis and Jeff ever since our first phone call when they were inquiring with me for their wedding day! With them living in NYC, we finally found a date that would work to shoot their Kogod Courtyard engagement in DC when they were in town. But when mother nature decided to rain on us, we had to call a last minute audible! The weather often takes a turn for the worse at the last minute, which is why I have a list of indoor or covered options to suggest for my couples if rescheduling is not an option.
The Kogod Courtyard and the National Portrait Gallery was the perfect rain plan for their engagement photos, that still aligned with the vision and I’m obsessed with how they turned out. These two’s love and connection is so visible from the moment you meet them. So many laughs and so much fun – I just want to hangout with them every week!
The rain lifted for the second half of their session and we were able to shoot outside and Alexis and Jeff brought a whole different vibe for their second outfit. Stay tuned!
